We read a sophisticated text this week .University of Virginia cognitive scientist Daniel Willingham answered some questions and explain thinking process .First questions is that After all we have learned about the mind and brain, why is it so difficult to make school enjoyable for students? Answer is that school is all about mental challenge and students like this situation but students still do not like school because teacher do not find suitable level for students.As a result , students do not want to go school.I totaly agree this idea.The other question is that ninety percent of people think they are either a visual , auditory or kinesthetic learner. What does it mean ? The author says ‘’ This idea has been tested repeatedly in the last 50 years and it does not work.’’ But I do not think so because people learn same thing different ways .For example When I learned a topic with presentation or pictures .I do not forget it. I remember that topic better by seing long time .Apparently I am a visual learner.Lastly author mention ‘’how can we all get smarter’’ İf we want more smarter , we can read news paper regularly and we have to do intellectual activities .So we can be more smarter .
YanıtlaSilWe read ''teacher are key for student''.First of all,Ilike title of this text.Ifound an interesting title but,I think the author can not exactly remunerate to the title.People wonder what will happen in the text when they read the title but,they do not get the expected imformations in the text.There are three questions in the text.I think it was nice to write in the form of questions and answers.Why do not students like school?I think the answer of this question is very easy because there are a lot of lessons in the school and there are a lot of hameworks in the house also,students like gallivant,have fun.The teachers say,''you should study hard.'' in school and parents say,''you do not watch TV,you must study hard'' I think all of them are very boring.

YanıtlaSilWe told about “Teachers Key for Students” last week.First of all, author is aking a question to us about to make school enjoyable for students. I consider this question unnecessary because if students realize that they come to school to learn something and to improve themselves , they will study much more than anything.Secondly we told about “non-obvious consequently”.I agree things that we told about this issue.If we want to learn something exactly correct . we must think oyly that thing when we are studiyng about that.If we don’t do like that , we most probably forget things that we learned in short time.Thirdly, we read “how can weall get smarter? “ in the text.Authot mentioned a basic way of success.A basic way of success is to engage intellectual activities according to writer.I totally agree with author because intelligence isn’t important , if people doesn’t improve it.So the best way of to improve their intelligence is study much more and engage intellectual activities.In conclusion, topic of last’s week was important for students and incluaded useful information for us.so it was nice and I really liked this topic.
YanıtlaSilThe article of the week is about the school. It is the best one that I have read. I want the writer to compose these kinds of texts. If I were the writer, I'd investigate in the schools. For example in a Turkish school. The article of the week is about the teachers' methods. We analyze the ways they use in order to motivate their students. One of the reasons of feeling ourselves OK in the school is teachers' attitudes towards us. If they motivate us, we will feel good. These attitudes make us belive that we will achieve great success. However; the teachers should be realistic to the lazy students. If they are not, the student will not be successful. We never give up going on, even if we are bored of the hard steps. We learned about the brain and the memory. It's never interesting to solve easy problems. It was said that the environment did not affect the memory 20 years ago. I think it's a wrong opinion.People achieve great success with the affect of the environment. Instead of big changes, try to go slowly. Never give up. I will try to change little by little through my life. I hope it'll work.

According to text, mental work is hard job.However, people enjoy successful work.They get a snap of satisfaction when they solve problem.On the other hand,solving a problem that trivially easy is not fun for people.I totaly agree that idea.Secondly,authour mentioned that one way to help
easy to remember.It is that to make story structure.This way really makes to learn easy.I have used this method,and it was worked.Thirdly, the text contradict that effects of a visual,auditory or kinesthetic learner.Because,this idea has been
tested repeatedly in the last 50 years and it does not work.Finally, the text was mentioned that the effects of the environment on the intelligence.He said environment is most important thing for intelligence.I agree with him.
First of all ,I learned something about "Teachers Are Key for Students."I think this text is very beneficial for us because it gives something about teachers,students,to learn,etc. ,so it is very useful topic for us.Also,this text applies different a way.This way is a interview or catechetic.For example,why is it so difficult to make school enjoyable for students?,and there are a lot of questions in this text.Firstly,in my opinion,my experiences are very study about my learning process.Secondly,I have learned a lot of thing from this text.For example,people don't enjoy solvig easy problems,and they don't remember everything people want to rememeber.Also,according to Daniel Willingham believes that it is sometimes difficult for students to think.According to text,the other different thing tha people have different learning styles.These styles are visual,auditory,and kinesthetic learners.This visual learners understand and remember better by seeing,the auditory learners by hearing,and the kinesthetic learners by touching and manipulating,but this claim has been tested in the last 50 years and this claim is wrong.Also,it is possible to make ourselves smarter.If we read lots of newspaper,watch informative documentaries,and find well-written bokks,it makes smarter to us,and we watch less television.As a result,this text is very well for me.
YanıtlaSilWe read interesting article about brain.author Daniel willingham shared some ideas .For example "why do not students like school.The author answered this questions this type; teacher do not find good level for each student. In this way student do not like scholl.If teacher can find level of hardness,student can be more successfull and other topic is that most scientists thought that intelligence was mostly inherited and environment has little effect but author do not belive that. I think he is right because environment has a lot effect on our success
YanıtlaSilMost people would agree that the teacher in the classroom is the most important person affecting students learning. I believe teacher effectiveness is the single biggest factor influencing gains in achivement. School teacher response to the family situation. From our own memories of our school years we all remember the great teachers we had. They affacted our lives to come these days. However, no matter what teacher does everything consist on students. Their determination and intelligence is important. I can not recommend for determination, but I want to write something about intelligence. I think intelligence is not inherited. We have seen this situation in our lives. Many successful student's parents did not graduate from university or high school. It shows that intelligence does not inherited. Determination is more effective than intelligence. Finally, if you want to devolop your childrens mind you have to make them to eat protein. Especially egg because new life is born from inside of it. Eggs boost your child's growth and development. If they take nourishment well, they will rise in the world.
