We learn different excited theory this week – folk wisdom and self-fulfilling prophecy - .First of all I want to explain self-fulfilling prophecy.It is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behavior. Ancient Greece history and Ancient India history have a lot of good examples .The best well known example is if you say this child will be idiot, s\he can be idiot.Society genarally believe that idea and also I belive it.Second theory is folk wisdom (i.e. common sense). Folk psychology is interpreted as a theory when perceptions of one’s daily life (such as those of pain, pleasure, excitement, anxiety, etc.) are interpreted as principles that are used to explain mental states.For instance thirthteen of each mount is bad day or to be a first child affect child personality and intelligent but I don not agree this opinions. I think each person has same intelligence capacity however same people improve your self but others don’t. To sum up self-fulfilling prophecy can be true but Folk wisdom theory is not reasonable .
YanıtlaSilWe read an charming text last week. This text about self fulfilling prophery and prophecy. I think, self fulfilling prophery is possible. Why not ? For example, if we say 40 times "idiot" for someone , s/he feels a fool himself. Firstly, there are different assumptions about this subject. Every folk wisdom can be diffirent. Someone believes in destiny, someone believes in what has been said. Secondly, according to expert, folk wisdom affects for people. For instance, The first child is important for some families. They believe that their first child smarter. In my opinion, this people think that selfish. Everyone can not e copable. We should not discourage children. We should not overrepresent necessary.

This reading text reminded me of some folk wisdoms in my life. Such as not cut a nail in the night or black cat is to sign
bad lucky etc. These are some of thousands folk wisdom samples in our life.I don't belive these things.I think,these are
nonsensical. Another exciting subject is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I want to explain it with an example.
If you say"I won't study because I can't achieve it"again to again.Most probably you can't do it successfully.
So you will be unsuccessfull.Self-fulfilling prophecy is a supersition for some people,but in my opinion it can be true because I get some experience to support this topic.All in all,folk wisdom isn't logical.Self-fulfilling prophecy isn't fully incorrect.It has some strong resource.
We read interesting a text about self fulfilling prophery and folk wistom.Self-fulfilling is from ancient times to these days and most people believe it and they don't do these things.If they do it,they believe to bring bad luck.For example;not cut the nail in the evenings,not look in the evenings,if you say someone stupid 40 times this someone be stupid etc...I believe it,too.I'm trying not to make it.
YanıtlaSilFolk wisdom is from ancient times to these days like self-fulfilling and most people believe it.To give an example;the birth order myth,when a woman is pregnant,if she looked a beautiful baby her child be beautiful.I believe the birth order myth because my older sister is first child and she is very intelligent and hardworking.I am second child and I am not as hardworking as my sister.
We paid attention to this week's text. We read 2 texts about self fulfilling and prophecy. What do we know about the predictions that fulfill themselves? I sometimes believe in them. I may repeat my wish forty times which I want most. Even if it does not realize, I feel satisfied. This situation influences the moods of the people. While I am cooking with my cousin I tell her that her meal will be so bad, she is influenced and that's so we see that the meal is bad. On the other hand, most of the families think that the first child will be more intelligent. It's a wrong opinion, according to me. It's up to the child. If you are still for this opinion, I want to say that the families are not experienced in the first child but they become more experienced in the second child. Ps: I am the second child
YanıtlaSilFirst of all,I learned something about birth-order myths.I think birth-order is unimportant for people personality,intelligence,and achievement.I think this belief is a folk wisdom such as people don’t cut their own nail at night.These belifs are harmful for people because they are afraid of everything.Besides,birth-order doesn’t affect people personality,intelligence,and achievement.For example,if a family has 5 children,their firstborn,middleborn,or lastborn are not intelligence or achievement,but some family’s firstborn is very successful,intelligence,and achivement,or their lastborn is very spoiled,relax,or unrelated.Also,being a only child has advantages and disadvantages.For example,disadvantages,he or she doesn’t share anything with other people such as their toys and chocolate.Advantages,he or she is very important for their families,and their familys do everything for he or she.As a result,birth-order is unnecessary for all people personality,achievement,and intelligence.
YanıtlaSilThis week we read interesting texts. Self fulfilling prophecy, from my point of view, is a fact as I have many examples which this theory becomes true. Putting examples aside, even thinking a fantasy too often could lead someone to live it as it is true. The other topic about the intelligence degree of childs in terms of their birth order should be the other way round. I am one of a living example of this theory. Even if not more intelligent younger childs are more open to self development. Parents gain experience in the first child thus they guide the second more properly. Also younger childs doesn't have obbligations such as being a "role model". This creates a comfort for the kid to develope himself freely.
YanıtlaSilThis week I didn't join each lesson, but I read this chapter at my dormitory. I do not think I understand the text fully. Although, I want to comment Firstly, I am a first born. I don’t agree this text such as the first born child in the family is different from the other children in the family. I am older than my sister 6 years old. In my opinion, we are the same characteristic furniture. On the other hand, I agree in a small section text such as growing up in a small family has many disadvantages, and some people believe is is better for a family to have children far apart rather than close in age.
YanıtlaSilThis week's passage was about birth order myth.Whatever, birth order exactly affects people’s personality.It's completely about people personality.Firstly,I have a one twin brother.For example; people who are the youngest child in the family, and he/she has a three siblings.Sometimes, this situation can be bad effects in the family.Maybe your siblings are jealous you.it bad effect of birth-order myth.I give an example of myself,when I was a kid, I shared my toys with my twin brother.In my opinion, I don't belive the birth - order myth effect, because I think, it's a surrounding causes.People can improve theirself.

I didn't like the author's ideas however, I want to talk about the impressive side.I am younger than my sister She is 25 years old and my family's experiences with my sister are worse than me because they lived everything with my sister when I wasn't born.For this reason, their behaviours are improved and they behave me this way.So,birth order affects people’s personality during their life with some subjects.My sister has a responsibility more than me.It's older sibling's destiny.

YanıtlaSilLast week we read an exciting text which is about birth-order myths. First of all, i am agree with author' opinion because it is logical. If person has grown up in the family, he will recognize people great. He has learnt many things about humanity, social events and community rules. However they usually lost theirselves in the crowd. On the other side, person who has grown up in the small family, mostly he will be self-conscious. All things consider, family is the most effective criterion on people personality. And always siblings have got differences whatever their age doesn't matter.
